During your initial evaluation, we will review your health history and the symptoms you would like to treat. I will do a traditional Chinese medical evaluation including a tongue and pulse exam and additional applied kinesiology techniques to determine hidden stress on glands, organs, the nervous system, and the body's meridian system. I will develop a report of findings and a treatment plan to be discussed on the following visit. Treatment plans may include acupuncture, BioSet allergy elimination, Chinese herbs, nutritional supplements, and qigong exercises. The personalized treatment plan will address your symptoms and the underlying root causes found during your examination.
Acupuncture is one of the world's oldest, most commonly used forms of medicine. Originating in China more than 2,500 years ago, acupuncture is currently one of the most thoroughly researched, practiced, and respected forms of complementary medicine available anywhere.
According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, your overall health is determined by the quality of the Qi (energy) flow through the natural pathways of your body (meridians). Acupuncture uses various techniques to stimulate and improve your Qi flow, including placing very thin sterile needles into specific points on the body. Electro-acupuncture adds additional benefits of stimulating the nervous and endocrine systems to secrete natural pain relievers and promote an anti-inflammatory response. Research demonstrates that acupuncture can increase the body's natural endorphin (pain relieving molecules) level. This higher pain-relieving response can last up to two years when sessions are initially done at least twice weekly. The many benefits of acupuncture include the following:
Allergy assessment consists of testing using applied kinesiology to determine stressors. Allergy treatment utilizes a combination of cold laser, homeopathy, and auricular acupuncture points to retrain the body to eliminate or reduce hypersensitivities to foods, seasonal allergens, and environmental stressors.
Crane-style qigong is called a quiescent-dynamic form of qigong. A series of five small forms make up level one. Each form builds on the previous one and can be done in as little as twenty minutes once you know all five. Quiescent-dynamic qigong is a combination of medical and spiritual qigong. The focus is on health and calming the “shen” or spirit. Crane style models some of the crane's movements and embodies gracefulness, balance, and quiet calm. The movements are designed to help open five main energy centers to allow the free flow of “qi” or life energy between the human and heaven and earth and to cultivate a sense of oneness and harmony with the universe.
